Welcome to Sparkbrook Elim Christian Centre
We are delighted that you have chosen to visit us today.
Sparkbrook Elim Christian Centre is a branch of the Elim movement a denomination of churches with over 500 hundred branches within the UK as well as churches in forty countries around the world.
The name 'Elim' was taken from the book of Exodus where the Israelites, exhausted and dispirited en route from Egypt's cruel bondage to the freedom of Canaan came to Elim an oasis in the desert where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees (Exodus 15:27).
Sparkbrook Elim Christian Centre is a caring and loving community which embraces everyone just as God embraces us. This is a place of healing for the broken hearted the lonely, the hurting, the sick and the poor. A place where we encourage people from all walks of life to continue to seek God’s will. I encourage you to see yourself as God sees you. You are a significant and valuable person who is deeply in the thoughts and plans of God. Your life matters to God and so it matters to us. I encourage you to trust in the love, care, providence and ability of God in every area of your life. As a church, we are committed to seeing you grow and develop into what God has purposed and planned for your life. Jesus said, ‘I have come that you may have life and that you may have it more abundantly’ (John 10:10).
Our work and commitment as a church goes beyond the four walls of the building to include the community. We encourage unity in diversity and reach out to the community in love, fellowship and other practicable ways. Our work in the community involves the luncheon club for the elderly, group meetings and regular community events.
Finally, I do hope that you enjoy your time with us as we seek to discover God’s plan for our lives and our nation. I encourage you to worship and fellowship with us as we continue to serve God and you. Please do not hesitate to speak to me or a member of the leadership team regarding matters of relevance to you and us.
Yours in Christ
